Dandie Dinmont Terriers are difficult to breed. Each breeding must be carefully planned to protect health, type, and soundness. Thankfully, since the average Dandie litter is around three puppies, puppymills and backyard breeders find that Dandies are not 'worth the trouble' to breed. Although there are very few Dandies appearing in shelters, there is a need for Dandie rescue groups. Dandie rescue organizations are ready at a moments' notice to foster Dandies who have met with hard times. Please contact the organizations listed on our Resources page to offer your help or to inquire about adopting a rescued Dandie Dinmont Terrier.
We will continue to add to this page as folks share photos of their rescued Dandies with us.

This Dandie was rescued from a family who did not understand the need for exercise, good nutrition, health care, clean environment, and gentle training.
